Sigma 10-20 & Nikon D200

Hi everyone! Smile

I was browsing the HK ebay retailers looking at the Sigma 10-20. I intend to buy it from Warehouse Express, but was just comparing price differences. Anyway, had a look at Digital Rev who say that this lens can cause exposure abnormalities when used on the D200. I know Sigma provided a list last year of their lenses which needed to be rechipped for the D200; I guess the 10-20 has been added to that list since I saw it.

Question is (and possibly a stupid one but forgive me, I'm blonde!) will this apply to all of their 10-20 lenses currently available at shops/online? I mean presumably they've corrected the fault at the point of manufacture now, but will the new stock not have reached retailers yet do you think? Very keen to get it, but can't be bothered faffing around with having to send it back to be modified!

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Mine has hardly been off my D200 since I bought it and I've never had any problems (though some may disagree Smile)

I bought my 10-20 from Diogital Rev. I emailed them first as the description said there may be compatibility problems with the D70s and the D200. They replied that the isuue was now resolved (and this was more than a year ago!).

I now use the lens with both cameras and no issues.

It does beg the question - why are they still putting up this warning? Covering their backs, most likely.....

Check out the Tokina 12-24, a cracking lens and very affordable from URGalaxy shop on ebay.
