Could anyone please tell me whether the focusing ring on the SIGMA 10-20MM F4-5.6 SIGMA SAF LENS is supposed to stop once you get to infinity, or, does the outer ring just continue to rotate? Once I reach either max or min focusing the outer ring continues to rotate and this doesn't feel right.

It has full time manual focus so it keeps rotating.

Yep as Straw says its perfectly normal for any HSM/USM lens. You will feel a slight feeling (or hear a slight click sound) as you reach the max/min focusing distances, but beyond that the ring will rotate freely without any damage to the lens.

About the only time you can cause undue wear on the lens with this type of focusing is if you set your AF mode to continues AF and then keep the AF running whilst also trying to manually adjust the focus in effect fighting the focusing motor. Otherwise using it to manually adjust the focus after AF has stopped but without turning the AF switch on the lens off is perfectly fine
