Small and Light Cameras

Hi there,

I am looking to buy a digital camera for general use that is small and light and around 3 Megapixels.

i have been looking at the Olympus mju300 and Fuji a303 and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for other cameras like them. I would also like to avoid a camera with XD memory cards if possible because i have a memory card reader that reads every card format apart from it.

Are there any cameras like the fuji and Olympus that take Secure digital or MMC cards for example?

Thanks

Might be worth checking out Kyrocera models - a friend has one and her pics look the biz. The camera is tiny and fits in her pocket.

The Minolta F100 was being sold off at 299. It's a 4 MP model that has had good reviews and it's a compact little piece of kit.

You might want to check out the Nikon Coolpix line. The 4300 is a small, light 4 megapixel model.

IMHO you might be better going for a 4 megapixel like some others have mentioned. In my experience that's where you start to have enough pixels for sharp prints at a decent size, even with a bit of cropping. Personally I think there is a decent gulf in quality between 3 & 4 meg cameras. Have a look at some of the small Olympus models. I have a friend with an Olympus D40 (obsolete now) and it is a fantastic little camera which can print up to A4 with ease.

Would the Traveler D1 (Aldi - 22/05/03) camera be of any use to you?
4MP, 3x optical, 2x digital, SD format.

It's mentioned on the "Digital camera at Aldi" thread.
