Some interesting ebay scams around - again

Quote:My main gripe about ebay is the people who put items up for auction and then at the end of their description they put a proviso on that they reserve the right to end the auction at anytime as they have the goods advertised elsewhere,to me that is not an auction.

I had a seller do that in the last hour of an auction for an etching. He claimed he had sold it to his BiL. I pointed out that since he had terminated the auction at such a late point, he had made me the winner and thus had to sell to me and disappoint his other buyer. He got a bit cheeky so I told him I'd report him to Ebay and to his employer whose email account he was using to do his Ebay transactions. This seemed to focus his mind and he offered a 50 compensation payment for messing me around. I accepted and used the money towards a couple of lino cuts by the same artist.
