Sony A6000 with Godox V860ii s flash

15 Apr 2019 9:49PM
Hi,

I recently purchased a Godox v860ii s flash for my Sony a6000 and I'm struggling to get it to work properly.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience of using this combination?
I can get the flash to fire but the photo's are under exposed.

Any advice on what I'm doing wrong would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance,

Ichabod

It depends a little on what you are trying to achieve.... But try this for starters.

Make sure the flash is set to master and TTL.

Set the camera on manual exposure and a shutter speed of 1/160th and an aperture of f8.

Depending on how dark or light your subject is you may need to use some exposure compensation.

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I really appriciate it.
I tried the settings you sugested but no luck.
The flash screen displays F8, the zoom (24mm), flashes when I press the button and even lightens / darkens the picture on the camera display screen if I toggle the flash on and off, but when it takes the photo it's dark.
I would say the brighness between no flash and external flash were about the same.
However, I took a photo with the settings you suggested using the inbuilt pop up flash and that was the right brightness.
