Guess it depends on what flash your using Col, there`s a review of the 100cm box and SB900, user claimed they were fine together.

Lol I have no idea Col, I don`t use Canon or Nikon, personally I would not go above 60cm.

just measured the one I have ruined. It is 30in x 30in, so nearly 80x80cm.

Looking at the shot Cole has uploaded and the link to the bracket, both flash guns have a stofen on, is this always needed when using a softbox? take it it's to spread the light and minimise hot spots in the centre.

not at all, Stuart.
I didn't bother to take it off, as I was just trying to see how to put things together.
I did take it off when I put the softbox on.
