sticking motor sigma 150-500 lens

Quote:like the sigma lense needs looking at (not happy)
Send it straight to Sigma, Make sure you contact them first and arrange it, But don't take any " Bull " from them, Some copies of this lens had a problem in the AF electronics area, A known faulty part that should have been pulled in on " Recall " , So no nonsence they should fix it under warranty conditions, Even if that warranty is out......

I use the same lens, Mine has not been any bother at all....

Good luck as its a fab lens when working correctly....

EDIT: From memory it was sumfin to do with the AF/MF switch gear.....Whatever the parts used in some copies where of a found to be faulty batch.....!!!!!!!

I've just had exactly the same problem with my Sigma 150-500 lens on my Nikon D80. Autofocus would work, then it would fail and get error message --F-- in viewfinder. Switched everything off and powered up again and made no difference. Tried lens on another Nikon Body (D50) and was exactly the same. Have had the lens 18 months and have had no problems until this last few weeks when the problem was intermittent. Have got other lenses which work fine on the same camera bodies.
Lens has now been sent back to Sigma under warranty for repair. Was told it would take about 4 weeks!
