Can anybody help settle an arguement within our camera club?

Is it safe to use the Cannon 300D with Elichrome 250 flash heads with hot shoe adaptor/sync lead?

Elichrome seem to think it is okay but Canon will not say.
It is causing some panic as none of the Canon owners are willing to try it in case it fries the electrics.

Buy a Wein SafeSync from www.speedgraphic.co.uk for about 40.

or use radio triggers and do away with the sync leads all together

I'm with Frank on this one.

Radio triggers are the way to go. Even with my 1-series cameras which are perfectly safe with the Elinchroms I use radio triggers so I don't have sync leads trailing around, and also no optical slaves open which removes any accidental triggering by guests cameras at weddings......

Studioflash.co.uk sell a very reasonable set for about 50.
