Suggestion for the Photo Gallery

Would it be possible in the Photo Gallery to have a 'reply' option under where people comment on the photo - rather like in Facebook? At present, if someone asks a question or makes a comment that needs a reply one has to send a private message whereas it would be easier to simply post a reply under the relevant comment.

If you click on the chevron to the right of the date one of the options which appears is to quote the comment in a new comment. There's no need to send a pm.

The present set-up allows a single, continuous conversation, which I like. I don't 'do' Facebook, but my observation of various sites that include a Reply facility is that this creates lots of little, unconnected conversations. Better as things are here, I think.

'Twas just a suggestion, which I think is valid in that one of the main purposes of this site is interaction between members who all have an interest in photography. As in the system in Facebook, the member you were replying to would get notification of the reply which doesn't happen if you just use a new comment box whether or not you insert a quote. However, I accept that some don't share my view.

If you make a comment which you want to follow up, especially if you have posted a question, then all you need to do is set notifications for the thread and you will then be notified of new activity - albeit in the thread, not just your comment, but there again, that might lead to you reading something interesting that you otherwise would miss.
