Tags, tags and more tags......
Hi everyone,
I've searched the forums in vain for an answer to this, which is simply to satisfy my curiosity. I am limited to 10 tags when uploading my images, but regularly see some images in the gallery with way more than 10. Just wondered why and how you get to use more than the standard allowance?
Don't get me wrong - I'm not up in arms about it and can't see how I'd ever want to sue that many tags (!) - but I hate not knowing how stuff works

If an image on your device has more than 10 tags then these are all included when the image is uploaded to the gallery.
Thanks for the quick response, Malc. So, just to be clear, are you saying if I have tagged it in another piece of image catalogue/editing software on my PC? Or if I upload to portfolio I can add more than 10 and these are kept when I upload to gallery from portfolio.

Once it is uploaded to ePz, whether to the galleries or to your pf, then the 10 limit applies. The tags have to be embedded in the image on your pc/tablet/phone before uploading.
In stock photography sites, tags are an important factor or if there were a running competition based on the genres or topic then tags would have helped some purpose...are tags solve any purpose here on epz, rather it is just wasting some time at the time of uploading the image...

Tags help members who search the gallery for photos tagged as a specific genre - for example, landscape, coast, eagle...
It also helps you when you want to find images tagged with a certain keyword within your own pf.
Thanks Malc...often i forget what tags i had given to a particular image...but obviously if members use it to their advantage then it is really good...
