Tamron or Sigma macro lens

Have a look at my portfolio macro's for an idea on the Tamron. This question been asked a few times Pete, and the general concensus of opinion is that they are all much of a muchness. My advice would be to get the one you can get the best deal on, although the extra few mm's you get with the Sigma can be useful.

optically not much in it, It would be worth trying them side by side, as both are a little quirky when switching from AF to MF, and you may prefer the handling of one over the other.

Tricky switching from MF to AF is often mentioned with these lenses. This is why I like the Canon's full-time manual focus. But I think they are all optically excellent, so handle them yourself, as already suggested, then see what you like.

seems it depends who you talk to as to which is the best lens, i havn't tried the Siggy version but i do own the Tamron 90 DI version and am very happy with the results, i have examples in my portfolio taken with this lens.
