Tamron 24-70

Hi, I've no experience of this lens but you may find this review helpful Tamron 24-70. Also EPZ Review

I'm not using the Canon model, but I've been using this lens for months (see the blog in the Totally Tamron section). It's sharp enough for all practical purposes, and I've never had an issue with the focus (my camera lives on continuous focus with back-button override).
The stabilizer comes in quite handy, as it's brilliantly executed. It's a chunky monkey, but you soon get used to it, since it's such a full featured lens.

Recently purchased the new Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 G2 and what a superb lens. I have the Nikon 24-70 f2.8g lens but started having focus problems at f2.8. Instead of having it repaired yet again I did a lot of checking the reviews on youtube. THis led me to buying a "grey" import on a well known site for at least £400+ less than main dealers were selling for.
The lens is not only pin sharp on my Nikon D810 using the image stablisation but did a test video as well. You can throw away tripods this lens produces rock steady videos hand held ( see below) of my garden test video shot
