A really strange coincidence. I emailed an old friend tonight who I occasionally go out photoing with, to tell him that I had been to Fairfield Church last week....... I havent seen him or contacted him for about 4 months.

He mailed me back to say that he is going there tomorrow. (about 120 miles away.)Grin

Several UK retailers currently have ' clearance ' sales and I do not usually take much interest.

But, there appears to be some good deals going, especially if it is something that is compatible with the gear you use and possibly approaching ' end of life '

I succumbed, and now have a Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 24mm f2.0 lens for Sony A Mount Smile
and by switching the camera to APS-C mode I also have a 36mm lens as well

A friend of mine messaged me today that the weather in the UK has changed radically. He is just south of Liverpool and it is 32 C at his home today. I hope you are all taking good advantage of the warm weather to be out and about photographing. Have a nice weekend everyone.

Just seen this circulating around.....

Oxford University researchers have discovered the densest element yet known to science.
The new element, Governmentium (symbol=Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.
These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called pillocks.
Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact.
A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.
Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2 to 6 years.
It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganisation in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.
In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganisation will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.
This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration.
This hypothetical quantity is referred to as a critical morass.
When catalysed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium (symbol=Ad), an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium, since it has half as many pillocks but twice as many morons.

Whatever you think of their products one has to admire Nikon's PR / Advertising departments. Smile

The news item this morning is the announcement of new products from Canon, yet Nikon have taken over ePHOTOzine's home page with their branding colours & adverts.
