My old mum's just had her first jab, the Phiser one. She didn't feel a thing and the centre in the church hall was very well organised. One young girl collapsed in reaction to the jab while we were there but the team dealt with the situation really well. So just a heads up, wait for 15 mins before leaving. I would, even if they say it's not necessary any more, after seeing that.

Reactions are very rare, most that do turn a bit funny are due to their fear of needles.

Yes, perhaps she had an allergy thing, or as you say, a thing about needles. Anyway, full marks to the team who dealt with it so well.

There's this form you fill, second part filled in by person giving the jab, your asked questions about health, alergies, etc, then you sit for 15 minutes after, just in case.

All pretty good, everyone is doing a grand job.

Got my pfizer jab on new years day at 9.12 in the morning, these guys have even given up holidays.

My youngest daughter had her first jab yesterday - there was a bit of a queue for her turn, but once in she quickly had the jab, then, as you say, she had to sit and wait 15 minutes. All very calm and organised. Admitedly, her arm does feel a little sore, but in three weeks she can start feeling a little more relaxed.

It isn't just the fear of catching covid though, it is the mental getting out and about again she has to overcome and I think that will take a lot longer!

Yes the arm will feel a little sore, not due to the vaccine though, this will be the needle as it's going in the muscle and will need a few days to heal.

Great news.
I`m afraid that for us crumbleys in France the wait is likely to be a bit longer whilst the authorities sort themselves out.
At least we are in a very rural area so able to keep away from people.
Sorry, forgot that this is the happy forum.

We have just returned from having our dose of Pfizer. We cannot praise highly enough the organisation and the efficiency with which it was carried out.
I did not feel anything. Normally with the annual flu vaccine the needle can be felt going in. Not this one. Excellent.GrinGrinGrin

Hurray! The Supreme Court has ruled that insurance companies must compensate small businesses for losses during lockdown. How nice to hear something sensible for a change, and that the insurers can't wriggle off the hook as they so often do.

My mate and his wife had the Pfizer jab on Monday. He's been fine with it but his wife is feeling poorly. She will let us know how she is midweek.
