The Laing, Newcastle upon Tyne

The Laing Art Gallery currently has two excellent exhibitions, well worth a visit if you are in the North East
It has acquired a set of Chris Killip's The Last Ships series - photos of the last days of ship-building at Wallsend. They follow the same small area from bustling activity to demolition. That one is free admission.
And Exposed (paid admission) is a collection of portraits of people who happen to be naked. Paintings, drawings, some sculpture but mainly photographs. They include the story of Lewis Morley's celebrated / notorious portrait of Christine Keeler astride a chair, and his follow-up portraits of others in the same pose.
