I think it would be wrong to ban Top Gear or anything else that someone voluntarily enters into, provided those hosting the event have proper risk assessments made and the participants in the event are made fully aware of any risks and are properly trained.

Quote:a decent newspaper

What is a decent newspaper? There are very few indeed.
The Independent is I reckon, the best of a bad bunch.
The Guardian is quite good at the moment but hitherto was blindly pro-war, and pro New Labour. I'll never forgive any newspaper that has supported the war in Iraq etc.

Now THAT makes me want to drive my car against a wall...

LOL! - and at the other rants! I think there is a case for banning Big Brother on the grounds of cruelty and the exploitation of silly, shallow people. (or is that shilly, shallow - sounds better!)

I think I read the presenters in fact badgered the production team to let one of them ride in this gas turbine car - so it's a case of the production team not being fully aware (probably)

Anyway....

Yep. I'm not a big fan of Top Gear but I'm pleased to see Richard making a remarkable recovery. His journalism seems to reveal a more serious side to his likeable and derring-do nature - he usually writes with a fair bit of common sense.

Or maybe they withdrew upon seeing Hammond taken to Bristol in the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and not taken by road. Is the Air Ambulance ment to be used for jollies or for getting seriously injured peolpe to medical help, what would have happened if on its way to Bristol, it was needed in an emergency, does a Z list celeb take prioriy over road traffic accident victims?

Rant, but a fair point, the whole thing has become a circus.
