Google Eigg images for a flavour of the magic that lies in Laig Bay.

Doone Valley taken last Spring. I love the light on the trees; it gets even better when the first buds begin to show.

Anglesey - Penmon taken a couple of months ago.
Also make sure you visit Llanddwyn which takes a full day; lighthouses, pillow lava, wooded dunes, ruined chapel, pilot boat cottages, etc, etc; something for everyone.

That was a difficult request - one image to sum up a whole area!
Do I go for exceptional light with a relatively conventional composition (Penmon) or something unusual (Doone Valley) or something dramatic (Canna).....
When I know all three locations are capable of producing images in all three categories!
So I went so I went for a fairly random image from my last visit.

I didn't post anything for Iona and Ardnamurchan becasue Google images gives quite a good impression.
Apart from on Iona the multi-coloured pebbles in St Columba's Bay; which are amazing.

Knoydart however, this does not represent the wilderness nature of this area as I visited before my photography days.

All the Small Isles are excellent for photography and rarely visited by photographers - Canna, Eigg, Muck and Rum.
I can happily give my secrets away because the challenge of staying there will put 99.99% of people off once they start looking into the details.

Here's three relatively conventional landscapes from Canna.

1) Skye- Elgol beach probably number 1
2) Rannoch Moor- still to get something stunning but has potential to look classically beautiful.
3) Saltwick Bay- again, unfinished business there
4) Southwold Pier- too full of tripods now but the sunrises in exactly the right place.
5) Happisburgh beach- awesome when on a medium tide

1 Switzerland - fantastic scenery everywhere and I also love being in the mountains on my own.
2 Wakehurst Place - Local to me and always something to photograph come rain or shine
3 Hever Castle - Almost local and some wonderful flowers in the Gardens.
4)South Downs ( Brighton Area ) Can be a challenge to get some good shots, really needs the right light but is usually where I meet up with some epz "friends" from time to time Smile
5)British Wildlife Centre - Very local to me but not really my subject matter but again where one can meet up with epz "friends" for a chat Smile
