Tripod leg attachment?

Does anyone know of a decent, not too expensive, way of clamping something to a tripod leg that will hold a mobile phone or small tablet?

I have a large holder for the tablet that has a tripod screw, but I don't want it on the tripod head - the camera is there. I want to attach it so I have use an app "hands free" while taking photos. (I've also tried using my existing thing with a gorillapod wrapped round a leg, and that doesn't really work).

If you're handy at making things. I'd be inclined to make your own. An offcut of wood or some aluminium bar, a few nuts and bolts and job done. Costs next to nothing and it would be as good, or better than most of the ones you could buy, but without the premium price tag.

Hey, thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'm not sure how I'd connect my phone to the things recommended, but looking at the other items on the pages reminded me I bought a cheap thing to hold my phone on my bike handlebars.

I just tested it and it fits my tripod leg perfectly!! Cost 99p from Wish Grin
