Trouble with Canon Printers

Has anyone had trouble with Canon printers ? I have always had Epsom printer but decide to change to Canon after the last Epsom packed up after 9 years trouble free printing. This canon printer is driving me up the wall. I go to print a 9.5 inch print on an A4 sheet of paper and it says that the paper widths do not match the print paper settings. Wish I had stuck with Epsom !

I have had trouble with both Epson and Canon. The Epson used to stop halfway through printing and decide to start all over again. My old Canon had paper size issues. The Canon I have at the moment seems to be fine.

What software are you using to access the printer? What Canon printer have you got? You will need to go into the Canon Printer settings, using Page Setup to define your paper size. If you are printing a smaller image than the size of the paper it will need to be told this. There should be a diagram available to you in Print settings which should enable you to adjust the size of of the actual print. You can also view the proposed print before you actually print.

A4 paper if 8.27 inches wide, could that be your problem? What is the other dimension? You may need to change the orientation either in the software you are printing from or in the driver.

If you post more details about the problem and some screenshots of the settings you're using I'm sure someone will spot the problem and help solve the issue. I have two Canon printers and a large Epson and haven't experienced any issues with print layout. Although, I tend to use Qimage for it's many advantages over the Canon or Photoshop printing applications.

It's not the printer manufacturers fault that the wrong settings are most likely causing the issue due to user error.
If you post more details about the problem and some screenshots of the settings you're using I'm sure someone will spot the problem and help solve the issue.

I have two Canon printers and a large Epson and haven't experienced any issues with print layout. Although, I tend to use Qimage for it's many advantages over the Canon or Photoshop printing applications.

I used to use Epson printers in the days of Windows 3, 95, 98, but switched to HP when I bought an HP computer in the days of WIndows Vista (c. 2009). Computer has had only had 3 changes since: faster CPU (3.16GHz); SSD drive (250GB); Video card. Customer Service said take it to have professionally done because they could do a better job of it (at more than the cost of a new printer). I then learned that HP and Brother brands supply new nozzles within each new cartridge: they are part of the cartridges instead of the body of the printer. Yes, the cartridges cost more for that fact, but it makes life SO MUCH easier. I would suggest there is something you have missed in the settings which are a bit different from Epson. I would never return to Epson as things are at the moment and if you can get your problem sorted it would be worthwhile. I telephoned Canon for support and I was talked through how to re-connect my printer over the phone for no charge. Great service.
