Top displays tend not to last for ever.
Based on a repair I had done about 2 years ago Nikon UK might be able to repair it for about £175.
Would you be happy to use it if the top display ceases to function altogether?

I've noticed the number "10" on some recent items of kit. Is that because there's a risk of "tin whiskers" forming after a decade? Presumably they do now use the dreaded lead-free solder?

Hm... Unfortunately, I don't know anything about this problem. I am not a really good technician, if you asked for my opinion of course. Smile

Thanks to all answered!
