Video fans, I need help with terminology

I often pause my nature/wildlife videos, and it seems to be hit or miss, but I do get some very sharp, clear stills with a pause. These are some of the best videos I've ever seen though, so that may have something to do with it. eg: The Earth series and Life series videos. Much better quality than I'll ever take.

No doubt about that. Expensive and sophisticated lenses at the front of the chain, the quality trickles through. Try to get that across to people who want to update their camera bodies and who use poor glass.
