Warm Up Filters

jsut wondering looking at some photos i recently took, can a warm up filter change the harsh midday sun into something softer? just wondering.

Try to apply a warm up filter in PhotoShop (Image>Adjustments>Photo Filter... in PS CS). Although the quality of the result maybe debated, it will surely give you some idea of what to expect from the filter.

TBH I doubt it would work very well. Part of the harshness at midday is due to the lighting being overhead so you get little in the way of shadows. You don't get the visibility of textures you get earlier or later in the day when the sun is at an angle. A warm up filter would alter the colours in th picture but can't alter the tones visible.
