Hi,

I am thinking about setting up my own website - can anybody recommend any platforms? Also how do you stop your photos being ripped off on such a website and if a customer orders how do you do you get prints or do you just send them a full sized version of the file? Any help most welcome.

Foliopic

Run by the same people as ePz.

You can prevent right-clicking on your images to prevent downloading.

As for how to get the image to the client, that's for you to decide what is easiest and best for you. Remember that if you send them a file that's large enough/good enough to print, then it is also good enough to misuse.

Does Foliopic integrate with a print and framing company - that might be nice.

As far as I am aware, no, it doesn't, Jack...perhaps a good suggestion to put forward in a report?

That's easily bypassed in most instances.

The reality is that regardless of the precautions put in place, if someone, somewhere, wants to nick your image, there's always a way to do so.

Yup -there is no 100% protection, all you can do is make it a bit harder.

For protection I use https://www.pixsy.com/ - you upload all your images to them, they search the web for matches. If they find a match you can ask their lawyers to sue for the money. Costs you nothing to join and has earnt me over £500 so far.
