Weekly Black and White Challenge ending 8pm Wednesday 8th January 2020 - Distortion

Well the first new B&W Challenge of 2020 and let me start by wishing a Happy New Year to everyone!!
Also, many thanks to Eric for the decision in the last challenge.
Now on to the new theme and while sat at the computer at work during my breakfast break and contemplating a new theme I eventually came up with "Distortion".
Now there are several ways to get a bit of distortion into an image, a wide angle lens will do it but light will distort when passing through or reflecting off of certain other items so a subject of your choice and see if you can give the image a twist.....or a twirl.....or any variation on the theme of distortion.
1. The challenge is just for fun.
2. All images must be taken after the theme is announced.
3. All images must be uploaded by 8pm on Wednesday
4. All uploads must be B&W (or sepia toned)
5. Only one upload per member
6. The person who hosts is the judge for that week challenge and the judge’s decision is final
7. The winner gets to create, run and judge the challenge for the following week
8. Don't get out of shape
9. Have fun

Well, a walk this afternoon with one idea in mind resulted in a completely different entry from my original line of thought.
Went for Quantum Singularity and time dilation theme.....
Added the distortion in Affinity (liquefy punch tool N) and a sky replacement in Luminar 4.
Eddie, shame you're hosting this. Mrs D commented she was looking forward to your selfie on this topic.

Not having a clue what that meant, I toddled off for a quick google - as one does - and after reading the explanation, I am even less the wiser than I was before:
"Quantum Singularity, is an extremely dense region of the space time continuum which produces extremely powerful gravitational forces."

It's the black hole between my ears that sucks in everything the Mrs says.
...........and if she reads this there'll be one hell of a Big Bang
Funnily enough, Dave, the space to let between ears was the conclusion I arrived at as well...must be something in our theory.

Well back again and certainly a fun selection of pics. Already out of shape after Christmas we have now got even more out of shape during the course of this last week.
After much perusing of the entries I have decided (and a difficult choice it was) to award first place to philstan for his "Squashed selfie". Both selfie uploads rather clever but this one also looks quite comical as if Phil had been running inside to answer the phone and forgot he left the glass door shut.
So well done to Phil and many thanks to everyone for taking part this week!!
