Weekly IL Black and White Challenge - ending 8pm Wed. 3rd March 2021. Shadows .

In Black & White photography shadows can add so much to an image: mystery, drama, definition, negative space and so on - or, of course, they can be the essence of the image in their own right. How you use them is entirely up to you, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Any comments you wish to make explaining your use of them will be welcome!
As ever there are some rules to which you have to conform:
1. The challenge is just for fun.
2. YOUR IMAGE MUST BE TAKEN AFTER THE THEME IS ANNOUNCED.
3. The image must be uploaded in a comment in this thread by 8pm (UK time) on the following Wednesday.
4. Images must be B&W (or sepia toned).
5. Only one upload per member
6. The person who hosts is the judge for that week's challenge and the judge’s decision is final.
7. The winner gets to create, run and judge the challenge for the following week.
8. Have fun as far as possible within the lockdown rules
oh, and a shadowy figure (me):

A reminder that tomorrow is the last day. Well, not the last day in the sense that the world is ending (oh dear, hadn't thought of that until I started typing - now I'm depressed
) but the last day for entering this competition and the chance of winning the fabulous prize of ...drum roll, wait for it... not only .being able to pick the next theme, but also being the lucky person to judge the images and name next week's winner! There, what more could you want? .

Because you asked, Pete, Studio shot, Collie ornament on tripod top against a white background, took just the shadow , used a cree headtorch as a spotlight to give the shape. Converted in FastStone to mono and adjusted the contrast to give that '50's look. Used high ISO ( for the E-300) to give the grainy look. Added the Butterflies in Photoshop Elements. A lot of fun, thanks for the challenge...
