Weekly IL Black and White Challenge - ending 8pm Wednesday 18th May 2022 - Public service
This week's topic is anything to do with public service - it could be something to do with the emergency services, or a bus driver, or a road sweeper, or just someone doing a kindness .... up to you.
(Just a thought - if Eddie doesn't do a selfie, can that be considered a public service?)
My example is from our local beach the summer before last.
The rules:
1. The challenge is just for fun.
2. YOUR IMAGE MUST BE TAKEN AFTER THE THEME IS ANNOUNCED.
3. The image must be uploaded in a comment in this thread by 8pm (UK time) on the following Wednesday.
4. Images must be B&W (or sepia toned).
5. Only one upload per member
6. The person who hosts is the judge for that week's challenge and the judge’s decision is final.
7. The winner gets to create, run and judge the challenge for the following week.
8. Have fun, but find a worthwhile and deserving subject.
9. NO SELFIES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!

Well, moderators must always be obeyed .. but other than that they get no special privileges, so must therefore enter an image, as implied in rules 2,3 and 4. 
The addition of Rule 9 was done very much tongue-in-cheek, so if Eddie feels that an image of him at work, actually working and not sitting around drinking tea, is to be defined as a public service, then so be it. However, sorting out bills for delivery is hardly a public service. Throwing them in the incinerator would be more beneficial to the addressee...

Public Service Bus
I had a go at getting some blur in a bus as it pulled into the stop. Not the best angle and probably needed an ND filter.
Few minutes to go ... I will be a bit late judging (cooking dinner at the moment) but will be back 9-ish.
Thanks to everyone for their entries - all excellent and with great tonal range and contrast .. much better than my example, which I was a bit disappointed with to be honest. I have since messed about with it but not yet achieved the punch that all your images have. Must try harder.
So, very impressive selection all round and hard to decide a winner but I liked the human touch in Somnath's 'public servant' image very much so am handing the baton over you to Somnath.
