Weekly IL Macro Challenge ending 8pm Sun. 21st Feb. 2021 - Photographic
Being stuck for a theme, I resorted to rummaging through the Topics List, and saw that it is at least two years since this theme last raised its ugly head, so I thought, why not?
So, anything photography related at all - and in case of any doubts, I am talking about equipment here. And as with "that other challenge", if you can make it obscure (obscura?) or mysterious, then so much the better.
And don't forget - size does matter, so the more macro, the better...
As a rule, we have some rules to adhere to, so her they are, for your perusal and pleasure:
1. The challenge is just for fun.
2. YOUR IMAGE MUST BE TAKEN AFTER THE THEME IS ANNOUNCED.
3. The image must be uploaded in a comment in this thread by 8pm (UK time) on the following Sunday
4. Only one upload per member
5. The person who hosts is the judge for that week's challenge and the judge’s decision is final
6. The winner gets to create, run and judge the challenge for the following week
7. Photos in the thread, no links.
8. For new participants - if you win, you will have to set and judge the next week's challenge.
9. Try not to break anything too expensive...

Here's one I took earlier - the cable release mechanism on an old bellows camera...but I am hoping for more macro than this is...

At first glance, without my specs, and possibly further fueled by an inherent schoolboy sense of humour, I thought the topic was Pornographic!

OK. I'm in early this week as I'm viewing houses tomorrow and Sunday - sometimes you just have to strike while you can!
With regards to the 1:1 on the sensor thing-a-me-bob doo-dah (far too technical for me!!!), this is the absolute closest I can get to that with my set up. I don't have a macro lens or extension tubes - I use close up filters instead. This was taken with my 10x close up filter and my 24-70 lens at 70mm! The red bit measures about 15mm in real life. So it's not quite there, but close. I'm sure you kind bunch will forgive me. 😁
Maybe it's time to think about investing in a macro lens or some extension tubes....🤔

Decided I couldn't wait for my birthday. So I bought myself a set of extension tubes. They arrived this morning so I just had to have a play with them, of course.
