Weekly Macro Challenge - ends 20:00hrs Sun. 5th Jan 2020 - Keeping warm

Keeping warm...anything that you associate with keeping warm in winter (or during a chilly summer!).
A close-up of the grain of a log you burn, a hairy macro of a woolly jumper, the croutons in a bowl of steaming soup...just some ideas.
Get the idea? Good
As usual, the rules - they haven't changed since Noah was a lad..
1. The challenge is just for fun.
2. All images must be taken after the theme is announced.
3. The challenge runs from 8pm on the Sunday and runs until 8pm the following Sunday.
4. Only one upload per member.
5. Please feel free to comment on the entries once judging is complete.
6. The person who hosts is the judge for that week challenge and the judge’s decision is final.
7. The winner gets to create, run and judge the challenge for the following week.
8. Have fun.
9. Keep warm!

I see a couple of you have already recovered from the exhaustion we call the festive season...or perhaps it's just a pair of Bah! Humbug-ers who didn't celebrate
...any how, still plenty of time for those still not recovered to get the logic part of your brain in working order again and submit an entry...

Very encouraging, Malc.

Had to get the picture in as I'm busy on New Years day - getting the bloody decorations down and the house put back to normal.
I had no idea who had posted images - merely saw there were two entrants via notifications...however, I now have a fairly good idea who the early birds are.

@Dave - I get what you say about NY's day, but what about the other days between yesterday and Sunday? Did you think you were entering the b&w challenge which ended yesterday?

We may well have embarked upon the journey known as 2020 - and indeed, that other journey known as the second decade of the century - has anyone given it a name yet? You know, like the noughties, or other ridiculous names? What about the tenties? Sounds like a participant at the Glastonbury Festival - a camper and his tent. But even though these momentous landmarks in time are upon us, I shall hold onto tradition and announce the entrants in the time-honoured way, namely in order of them being uploaded.
So, who's first up this evening? Ah yes;
Young Dave: I'm a fan of your heater, y'know. Yes, a heater fan as opposed to a fan heater...
Chris: I can smell those socks from here after they've been in those rubber wellies!
Just kidding it was the dog farting...
Phil: Blimey! Looks like Armageddon or Doomsday! That would certainly roast your chestnuts!
Eric: Prepared for all eventualities, I see. Sensible - you never know how cold it will get!
Andrew: I thought it was your job to keep Mrs. T's feet nice and warm?
Peter: Sounds like a Nancy Sinatra song, "This hot water bottle is made for warming..."
IL (all hail!): Never worn them? What's wrong with you woman? Don't you 'do' cold? Give them to Ledley to chew if you're not going to make use of them.
Eddie: I see you are a dedicated follower of fashion...i can just see you in this with your pipe and slippers...
Karin: How nice to see all (or some) of your furry bits.
So...no decision just yet - I'm just warming up
Off to get another glass of eau (don't do the red stuff any more) so hang around for a mo and I'll be back quicker than you can say "Nuke the barstewards" said in a Trump voice or in a tweet...

Well, this is difficult...
As I type this, I still haven't made up my mind. It's a bit like when you get out of bed in the morning (or whenever you arise of a day - being a pensioner there's no rush for me) and you don't have a fast routine. Shall I put on the left sock first, then the right, or, should I go for the boxers first, then the socks? So many variables and decisions. Perhaps it is easier to just crawl back under the duvet...
So, the heat is well and truly on - I have to make a choice, but as perhaps you have already understood, that is not as easy as it at first might appear. I can imagine Trump sitting there behind his desk in the not quite round office...is it Iran or Irak? Why do they name them so alike? Who is the one to defend and who do I attack? Duh! My head hurts! (Note I did not say 'brain').
But I digress -trying to buy time, y'know.
Having had another look, I stick by my original decision - I haven't a clue!
At the end of the day, in the fullness of time, when push comes to shove, I reckon that by the closest of margins . like a VAR decision, the head honcho for the next week has to be Peter and his Nancy Sinatra inspired water bottle.
Very, very well done all, especially those who were called but unfortunately, not chosen (except IL (all hail!) who is just relieved.)

Gosh - the competition was pretty hot, so I'm a bit surprised (well, somewhat more than that, really). Sometimes VAR can be a bit questionable I believe - mind-you, I do remember the Nancy Sinatra song but hadn't made the connection because 'hot water bottle' has too many syllables (or am I being overly picky?).
However, thank-you Malc for running the competition and the honour of trying to think of another subject
Erm….I've no idea at the moment.
