Looking through the topic list I can't see this being exactly the same as any previous ones, and I'm hoping that everyone will have some small item that reminds them of something, evokes a moment, etc. So it's really quite a wide subject which I hope will appeal.

THe Rules:

1. The challenge is just for fun.
2. YOUR IMAGE MUST BE TAKEN AFTER THE THEME IS ANNOUNCED.
3. The image must be uploaded in a comment in this thread by 8pm (UK time) on the following Sunday
4. Only one upload per member
5. The person who hosts is the judge for that week's challenge and the judge’s decision is final
6. The winner gets to create, run and judge the challenge for the following week
7. Photos in the thread, no links.
8. Have fun.

This is the monkey that sits next to my PC monitor, it's a constant reminder of the playful monkeys I saw on my wonderful trip to Sri lanka in 2018

Can we complete the challenge before facing the possible risk of you two eloping together? Grin

Who'd have thought I could cause such intrigue through a simple oversight Smile

Thanks Malc for trying to cover up for me!

Think I must have missed something..... probably best Smile

From me this week.
A small crystal bear I bought as a surprise for Mrs D in one of the Disney parks some years ago.
After I bought it we walked around for about 20mins before she saw the bag and ask what was in it.

I got lots of brownie points Smile

Hello all

On such a lovely day I'm sure no-one needs a reminder .....

I am out this evening so won't get to the result until a bit later depending on how much wine they make me drink.

An explanation of the various parts on show here. From the rear, a pair of pearl shirt buttons (proper shirts for use with bow ties have the top 3 or 4 normal buttons missing, and decorative ones are used in their place), a present from ly late father-in-law. They were his fathers before him.
Next, my very first pair of cuff-links, a present from Dominique, my French exchange student friend through many years, given to me when I was 14. They are deliberately distressed, representing two Roman coins. And in the front, a present for my 18th birthday from an uncle, a tie-clip...once upon a time, all these items were fashionable...

My dad loved his stamps. Here's a very small selection from his merchant navy days when he was around the middle east a lot.

Lizard

The very first holiday Mr PL took me on was a weekend break to Barcelona. One of the places we went to (among others) was Park Güell. For any of you who haven't been, this is a public park which has been fairly extensively decorated by Gaudi using mosaics. And one of the key features in the park is a big lizard at the base of the steps.

This image is of a (rather cheap and tacky, it has to be said) tourist souvenir of said lizard. It usually sits on the hall table between the phone and a bunch of artificial flowers. Neither get used (we use our mobile phones rather than the landline these days), so the poor lizard gathers more dust than attention. However, here he is in all his technocolour-glory for you - well, part of him anyway!
