Bridgelayer, - Johnny Paycheck - Paycheck is not his proper surname. If you google George Jones in the 1960s, there is a video of George, and the Jones Boys who are dressed in blue jackets, etc. The one coming in from the left to the microphone to accompany George is Johnny Paycheck. Quite different all those years ago to what Johnny looked in later life. The video may have been " White Lightning."
I have talksport on the radio and there has just been a break when they have played a bliddy beatles song. "You say goodbye, etc., etc." If you listen to their supposed brilliant music/songs, it is all repeat, repeat, repeat the words, lines, chorus.

He changed his name in the early 60's from Donny Young. I don't know whether it was as an alternative to his mate Johnny Cash or a ranked boxer of the day.
