Quote:Would that be within the sound of bow bells?
Only just I think. The area that the bells can be heard has strunk since the mid 1800 due to buildings and atmospherics. Hackney was on the wide side of audio when I was born, but if pushed, I can still sound as cockney as you like, although no-one does these days. It's all Essex.

To Kill the Truth, Sam Bourne. A most excellent thriller, and bang up to date with current trends.

Ooh, that sounds good. Just looked him up. I'm always on the lookout for authors I've not come across before. Smile

Have just finished the last of the Linwood Barclay catalogue, every one. He won't be releasing another book until 2021. Gutted.

Barclay has a very good style, tells a good and unusual yarn and keeps you turning those pages. I read the last one in one go. Smile The only ones I wasn't so keen on were those set in Promise Falls, but every other one was excellent.

I've just discovered Steve Cavanagh. If you like US courtroom/criminal stuff, he's a brilliant storyteller. Full of detail and suspense. I've just bought three, and expect I'll get through the whole set.

Just finished Suetonius, The Twelve Caesars, in Robert Graves' translation. Makes Trump look quite modest in comparison.
