TV license really gets on my wick!

Whats the point in it? I pay a monthly subsription to Sky..

Also, I hate when you book flights and you see all the surcharges and tax added on... really winds me up!

I would grudge sky their money more than paying for the TV licence after all do the Murdoch's need more money??? I think the theory is if you can afford to pay for Sky you can afford the TV licence.

anything that is clearly a waste of money e.g. about 2/3 of council tax & about the same in regard to general taxation; trumped up fees and charges that UK industry love to impose (Ryanair and Bank charges are examples that immediately spring to mind), all in all anything that is clearly designed to fleece the general public out of their money for no return.

The UK "National Insurance" contribution was originally intended to be an insurance premium to cover the various benefits but now it's treated as just another tax.

The rotters even charge Class 4 NICs when business-people are over retirement age and getting a pension.
