Its a negative feedback thing, not a positive feedback thing! A positive feedback thing would be, you go out, take nice pictures, then buy an even more expensive camera and take even more pictures...

Hell thats crazy talk Wink

Just for the record, I have no intention of giving up here, if I did that where would I be able to rant about these things. Being thrown out of pubs is no fun I can tell you.

Getting thrown out of the "Wee Houf" in Paisley for dancing to Nelly the Elephant was fun. Ah for those far flung days of being a Student. We were back in the following week Smile

I have never in my life heard someone being nostalgic about Paisley before...

Oh my - talk about nostalgia ...

Where we were, it was a badge of honour to be thrown out of and banned from the Grafton Arms .. although turning up in a trenchcoat and beret the following week and not scruffy student gear would secure pints for the evening and a blind eye from the barman. I also seem to remember that they had a large collection of small grubby chandeliers along the walls .. and that various women students, strangely, became owners of rather glamorous looking crystal shaped glass earrings .. and the chandeliers became, strangely, somewhat sparse in the glass department ..

.. and those earrings didn't half pull on the earlobes ..

'Grafton Arms'... now why does that name sound familiar? Are we talking Keele University here?

It's more nostalgia for a phase of my life rather than Paisley. Ah the trench coat, must be into Midge Ure country there.

Im afraid that many (maybe even most) EPZiners, have little idea of the skills that go into taking a good candid portrait or scene from life with available light (such as catching the right moment when you may have just one chance). Unfortunately, our esteemed editor does not help much in this respect. As a personal gripe: it will be beyond me for ever how he can give EC after EC to bland pictures of flowers which take little more than basic technical competence while ignoring the pearls of photojournalism.

It's called personal preference, we've been here before.

Maybe the Editors Choice should be based a little less on just personal preference.

Just an idea and in no way a snub at you Pete.

There are two pages of ECs, four for flowers and with such a much photographed subject as flowers, I find that a surprise.

Luke, then it wouldn't be the EC it would be the Technical Merit Award
