What flash should i invest in?

5 Sep 2012 12:56PM
I'm sure that there is probably a question relating to this somewhere, unfortunately only have a wee while on here before the wee man wakes. I am looking to get an external flash for my Canon eos 500d and would like some advice on what to get. Don't want anything fancy just a basic one for indoor portrait shots. Any advice would be great. Willing to spend 50-80 on one.
Thanks guys.

There's a thread about the Yongnuo 560 just a few below this one. You may find that interesting.

As long as you are happy to set flash levels manually (very easy to do), that is a good alternative for a fraction of the price of a Canon speedlite.

I'll seconded that, you won't get better for the money. Powerful flash and easy to use if you can get a grip on working in full manual mode both in cam and with the flash.
Get the Yongnuo YN560 II version. They are about 55 delivered on ebay, use the change for 2800mha rechargeable batteries.
