Not really very bad to stay inside the house, i am giving much more time to my daughter and taking a 7 days challenge to capture images with a single lens and single aperture...

I passed one of my annual "start of macro season" challenges today, catching a hover fly in flight. I've found the key is to pretend to ignore them at which point they can't resist coming to see what you are doing.

Two pics, the flight shot and one showing the reaction of the hover when it realised it had been tricked Smile

another milestone passed, under very difficult conditions, I ended up feeling seasick trying to follow and shoot a bumble bee feeding on our Pieris as the wind was battering the plant so much.

More than 50% of the time the bee was out of frame. Shot using my EM-1 mk2 with 40-150 pro and mc-20 TC

The objective was to capture the proboscis in action as it approached the flower and started feeding, I just about got it, even though I needed ISO1250 to get a fast enough shutter speed to have a chance of freezing the action (1/2000th - 1/4000th sec)

Have been self isolating for a month now. We don't go out for walks as in my opinion there is more risk out there than missing a# once a day walk, but we do have a well used exercise bike.
I have been taking photos indoors, testing out a 99p Metz flashgun that I bought on ebay (excellent) and some table-top stuff,
Took my first photos outdoors for over a month yesterday. The moon was against a darkening sky, the art with a compact camera is, I think, to catch it at exactly the right time and the right phase and adjust the under exposure control to suit. I should add that it helps if the moon is more or less overhead, less atmosphere to see through!
I think this is not bad with a Panasonic TZ80 hand held. Not cropped.21670_1585988737.jpg
