What is Photo Month?

Photo Month is our new interactive feature where you can try out and learn new photography techniques. Each day you will find shooting hints and tips, location ideas, event details, image-editing techniques, tutorial movies and reviews relevant to the particular day, month or season.
Each day we'll be starting a new topic in our Photo Month forum where you'll be able to upload your images after trying out the daily articles and techniques. For example, on the 1st March we want to see your best daffodil images.
If you have any ideas, hints, tips and questions please post them here.

Perhaps I've misread this but isn't the idea to get us taking photographs, possibly learning something and uploading an image or two when we feel ready, not necessarily on that particular day?
That's the way I shall be approaching it anyway.
Jester.

The idea is just to introduce a new idea or technique per day. It's not a meet and the forum threads to upload your picture when appropriate to the idea can run for more than one day so that people can join in.
Originally the months were going to be themed, and then they could have been announced, but looks like the final solution is to go more ad-hoc per month. Fear was that people would get bored if the month was not a genre of interest.

Great feedback so thanks to everyone.
Giving more warning for events is definitely high on my list to sort so that people can plan ahead. We will probably end up with a mixture of surprises and future event warnings.
In terms of approach, techniques, ideas and relevant reviews are key to Photo Month, but so too is ideas, images and advice from all ePHOTOzine members.
Re theming. We will be having a mixture of themed and non-themed months. So April is going to be a landscape special.
Oh, we are planning a few meets through the coming months too so look for details of these too - we will try to give plenty of warning.

Day two is live!

The hints/tips & guides look a useful addition to the site, thanks, although the daily threads do seem a bit pointless if they arn't going to be used to actually discuss/advise/illustrate the daily subject, techniques, hints etc
Simply uploading years old images showing mist into a thread serves no purpose as I can type 'mist' into the gallery search and get 232 pages of results (over 3,700 images)

fair point, but how often would you normally do that? I'm guilty of loading an old shot, although I have done some post production work on it which for me has given it new life...it made me think whether I had taken any `misty' shots in the past and may make me look differently about the next misty day. Certainly refreshes the parts that other `galleries' don't.
