Hi Everyone
Please could anyone tell me where I can get my canon 28-135 USM IS lens repaired? It will not focus manually or electronically.
I live in Cornwall and hear Canon charge a huge 150.00 flat fee--
Many thanks Julie

There's Fixation in London, or (if you want to try somewhere nearer home), Foto-Fix are situated in Plymouth.

I thought Canon's flat fee was usally cheaper than authorised repair service centres.

Try:
H. Lehmann Limited
247 - 249 London Road
Stoke-on-Trent
ST4 5AA

Tel: 01782 413 611
Fax: 01782 744 579

Web: www.lehmannsdirect.co.uk

I sent my Canon lens there for a quote (which turned out not worth fixing) and they returned it to me without charging postage etc. They are a Canon approved repairer.

Lehmanns didn't do IS repairs when I spoke to them end of 2004. I had a new IS module and a service done on my 28-135 a year ago and it was 120. The lens came back like new.

The Canon Service Centre at Elstree are pretty good. I've had two lenses serviced there and they did a good job on both. Does that 150 cover postage or is that extra? I'm lucky, I work 10 mins drive from their premises, so no postage charges on top.

There's another authorised repairer in Colchester, you could give them a call too.
