Which lens for Canon EOS350D

14 Jul 2006 10:19AM
Hi to everyone on the forum.

I am about to buy a Canon 350 with the standard 18-55 lens as part of the kit but want to buy an additional zoom lens. Jessops are offering the Tamron 70-300 for 99.99 if bought with the camera, but I like the look of the Sigma 70-300 APO which is 80 more.

Does anyone have experience of these lenses? Which one is the better buy? Is there a better lens available for this budget?

Any advice very welcome.

You should be able to get the sigma APO MKII for about 160. It gets plenty of positive comments from users on this site. A good budget all round lens. Look in the shop link to see prices, and force Jessops to price match or buy from the shop.

I've been using the Sigma for about a year now Nick with the 350D and find it is an excellent lens for the price. Welcome to epz btw, you will also find other threads on this lens if you do a forum search.
