Which Mark Canon EF 50mm 1.8, do I have?

A bit of a silly question really, I have had my 50mm 1.8 Lens for a number of years. I see the odd reference on various forums that indicate that the Mk1 version is better than the Mkii, and subsequentlyfetching more on the 2nd hand market. My question is this: How can I tell which mark of lens I have? (not that I have any problems with, nor do I want to part company with it!)

Thanks in anticipation!

Thanks guy's! It is a plastic mount! It must be one of the first Mkii's as I have had it about 14 years! (bummer, I wanted a Mk1 hahaha)

The mk1 also has a focusing distance scale in a plastic window on the lens barrel - the mkII hasn't. But optically there is no difference and the mkII is more compact and lighter!
