The first thread on this meet got a bit long and mixed up so I've started a new one.

We need to see who's coming ...then we can get some arrangements made, only 3 weeks to go!

I might like to stay overnight too, was thinking of going to my friends at Staithes rather than getting up early but it would be nice to have a meal Sat night and get to know each other. If you're doing that Cheryl count me in, but only if it's a definite arrangement.

What you doing Saturday Edward?

I think Glenn was planning on booking somewhere that had a restaurant attached. He is intending to do photos on Saturday as well I think.

Will let you know when it is arranged.

I'm just looking at hotels now. Most tend to want you to pay an extra supplement for single occupancy and also for 1 night stays.

I'm going to take a look at some other hotels close by and see what comes up. As soon as I can find something that suits then I will post details here.

flossie does that mean you also want to stay at an hotel also?

I was looking at the idea of travelling up on Saturday morning between 06:00 and 07:00 and then either going to a few places on the north yorkshire moors or some of the smaller fishing villages up the coast, still not decided yet.

You didn't Edward, I meant to just drive up Saturday teatime, but it depends what everyone else (Cheryl?) is doing I suppose.
I think it's just us two representing the girlies on this outing up to now.
I'll keep an eye on the thread for the hotels/b&b you find Glenn.

If you have not already found a suitable campsite. There is a one at Saltwick Bay which is half a mile from Whitby Abbey. There is a direct footpath along the cliff top down into Whitby , Beautiful shore line and rocky coast great for sunrise and sunsets. I don't know any charges you can conntact them on 01947 602664
Their name is Whitby Holiday Village

Thanks Bill, Sounds like quite a good location. I was intending on just parking up on the moors and bivvying down somewhere remote. I guess if I check into a campsite I might be a bit sweeter smelling come Sunday morning!

Ok Edward, it was just an idea which I thought might be helpful.
As said on previous thead I only live 45 miles away and know the area quite well,
There is a good car park at the east end of Scaling Dam Resevior with toilets often used by fisherman who are night fishing on the resevior. Scaling Dam is approx 10miles from Whitby on tha A171.
