I'm surprised no one has added Arthur Morris as a favorite.

His book "The Art of Bird Photography:
The Complete Guide to Professional Field Techniques"

is superb and contains a massive amount of information on photographic and exposure techique as well detailing exposure settings for everyone of his images in the book

Interesting thread, but I wonder how many others like me thought about some of the names, never heard of them.

Now there could be a lot of reasons for this and I'm not trying to criticise anyone else here, but I think if someone could collate the links into a single entry I for one could while away a few hours in boring hotels looking up a lot of these out of curiosity as much as anything.

I personally like to look at the work of a lot of others and some of them are not well-known or even professionals. Some are members here and some on other sites. A good example would be to check out the in flight sea-eagle shots by Miguel Lasa. I think he also has a puffin shot being used to illustrate the internation wild bird competition at the moment (and a nice guy to boot).

But as for a list there are just too many and I'd always miss someone.

Definitely gonna check out some of these links when I get some time.

I have recently stumbled across 'Zosia Zija' who has amazing photography and a really cutting edge website. Good stuff. Not sure that they are famous?

Cheryl - looking for some new photographers to discover ?

How about this

I assume you want a Natural History bias so [link=internt.nhm.ac.uk/jdsml/wildwin/2004/info_2004_photo_t.html] try here [/link]

Just click on a letter to bring up a list of photographers whose names start with that letter then pick on one that has a website to look at.
