Why don't videos download to my laptop?

why dont my videos download?
i have sony hx300 and windows 10. I take a series of shots including stills and videos. when i come to transfer them to the laptop,

the stills download but the videos dont seem to be present on the laptop screen.

anyone help

Because videos are a different 'type' i.e. not Tif, or Jpeg, so need a separate piece of software, still photos software cannot read them. Try Windows Media Player.

The videos will be in a different folder to the stills (on the memory card). Are you looking in the right place and copying them over?

Further information for Windows 10 - open Windows Explorer (the yellow file binder at the left hand bottom of your screen) then open the C:\ drive. Go to Users> and you should be listed as a User (for me that is a folder called 'angie'). Open this and then go to 'Videos'. The videos which you think you have downloaded may well be in there - look in each of the folders that are contained there. If not on the top bar at the end of the 'headings' is 'Video Tools' and that may help you to load the videos into your laptop.
