By jingo I hate it when you get bumped up to the top of the next page - it looks like you're talking to yourself.

The only "approved" I got at school was disapproved.

Damn, Boyd edited his comment as I was typing otherwise I'd let him carry on talking to himself.

Quote:Nikon 1:1
In the beginning was the Nikon, and the Nikon was with God, and the Nikon was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Nikon; and without Nikon was not any thing made that was made. In Nikon was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in the Canon Owners Club that was known as the darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was Boyd. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through Nikon might believe. Boyd was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. Boyd was in the world, and the world was made by Nikon, and the world knew Boyd not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of Keef and Pete. And Nikon was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld Boyds glory, the glory as of the only begotten of Keef,) full of grace and truth.

And that's why Nikon chose me.

....And when the light was low, God said "pass the Canon"

sry, couldn't resist it. I'm a Nikon stalwart by the way

To add a serius note to this thread, i have only found one answer with true sense, and like me, he bought his camera because it fit his hand like a glove, and all the controls were easily accessable and workable~they are tools~an tool to be used, Nikon Canon Pratica & Lieca, their just a tool, they do not produce great results unless you put the correct imputs into them (unless you shoot on auto~fools)so the decision should be based on how does it feel to you sir/madam not the advertising blurb.

i currently shoot on 4 Nikons F90x F100 D70x2
and they fit me like a glove.

well ok, I'm going to purchase a Pentax K10D after some research Smile I initially considered Canon XT (too f**ing small), 30D (too expensive), D50 (only 6Mp), D80 (not good value for money, also some really nasty reviews). So the K10D won easily here Smile. I believe IQ-wise it loses only to the 30D, but then the price difference is considerable. So think wider folks Smile There are other names than Canon and Nikon.

But the 30D only cost 40 more than the Pentax in the UK.
30D 640 in UK after 100 cash back. @600 for the Pentax.

I thought the D80 was well received by those who know photography. 534 in the UK. Not looking too bad in the value for money bit.

I would be choosing between the 30D and Pentax myself.

Strawman, I myself live in Asia, and am ordering photo gear from the US. The difference there between these two is nearly 250 USD. Surprise surprise...

Have I missed something? I haven't noticed and "really nasty" reviews of the D80.
