On wide screen ones your PS tools can sit to one side. Can't think of any cons.

Go for widescreen as:

1. Thats the accepted aspect ratio now
2. Much easier to place 2 of the same thing on a page (e.g Word Documenents, Spreadsheet, Images etc.)
3. More desktop space, so easier to have programmes running in background. (e.g how about watching a movie and working on a work doc. at the same time)

Quick question: Any reason for the 19inch as opposed to 17 or 21?

Just make sure your graphics card supports the resolution of the wide screen monitor.

I have the Gateway fpd2185w, it's a 21" widescreen that doubles as a TV when hooked up to a Tuner/dvd player....fantastic!

my monitor also provides 'picture in picture' so i can watch TV while also watching a dvd.
