Windows 11 . . .

Quote:PC or Mac - before being an early adopter of new OS - ask how long will it take for your important programmes to be updated to work seamlessly with a new OS?
I've never had a problem in the past.
Admittedly, I didn't adopt Windows 8 until it was cheap, in a sale but I installed Windows 10 on the day that it was released and I've never looked back.

I had no problems at all with the installation, it took about fifteen minutes although the initial download took quite a time.
So far, it seems OK; certainly nothing's gone wrong or not been recognised.
I'm not keen on no longer being able to drag files onto the taskbar icons but I have a workaround.
My biggest complaint and I suspect this might put quite a few off of upgrading is the 'improved' right click menu.
It's particularly frustrating if you only discover, as I did, that it's changed after you've upgraded.
There's a simple registry hack which restores the old one but unless you're sufficiently confident to carry it out, you're probably snookered.
Aside from that and the new interface (which will need to grow on me), on the surface, it's not really any different to Windows 10.

It says mine doesn't meet system requirements but doesn't say what, just wants me to download and install health checker.
Don't really want to download random software and can't think what the problem is as I have a very high-end PC.
Looks like I will be holding off then.
Windows 10 is pretty darn good anyway
