Sporting events offer some of the most compelling content, often on a global scale. Its diversity enables passion and engagement from all cultures and abilities and documenting these momentous feats have not been celebrated, until now. This year sees the launch of the World Sports Photography Awards, the first of its kind and we are looking forward to seeing the entries!

The World Sports Photography Awards are intended for professional, semi-professional sports photographers and specialist sports photographic agencies. The awards are free to enter and each photographer may submit up to 20 images.

The ultimate prize is an OM-D E-M1X professional photographer kit including not only the camera but three M.Zuiko PRO lenses, the MC 1.4 Teleconverter and CBG-12 backpack. Worth almost 10,000 EUR of high-performance quality, this kit is less than half the size and weight of a 35mm based equivalent.
.
Capture the drama, emotion and action to share a story through imagery. Whether it is the passionate spectators and fans or the athletes themselves with determination and grit, pushing themselves to the limit to succeed; these moments tell an intense story that is captured and frozen in time.

With senior international figures from the worlds of sport, media, broadcast, politics, brand and creative judging the competition, now is the chance to get your images in front of some very influential people.

The submissions process is open and we encourage photographers of all abilities to enter the world’s first international award for sports photography.

Each photographic entry must have been taken between January 1st 2019 and December 31st 2019.

Each entry should also specify which of the 26 sports categories it is being submitted for.

First, second and third place will be awarded in each category along with the overall World sports photography awards winner.
