i'm always interested in other people's musical tastes.I don't know if this has been done before but could you form your own fantasy band putting in your favourite musicians that you would love to see form to play for just one gig.for example mine would be:-
vocalist-Chris Cornell(Soundgarden,Audioslave).
guitarist-Adrian Belew(King Crimson)
bassist-Jack Bruce(Cream)
drummer-Neil Peart(Rush)
keyboardist-Rick Wakeman(Yes)
backing vocals-Layne Staley RIP(Alice in Chains)
other etc
just a bit of fun

Hmmmm... it's tempting to load it up with superstars but you'd have to think of all those egos, and varying tastes in music... I'd go for a melodic hard rock combo...

Ian Gillan (Deep Purple) vocals
Brian Tatler (Diamond Head) guitar
Scott Gorham (Thin Lizzy) guitar
Lemmy (Motorhead) bass... (and debauchery)
Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) drums... )and peacekeeping)

Okay - if you like "Power Trios", then check out Vital Tech Tones. I know they're not a fantasy band (except to me maybe!) but they will blow you away!

Steve Smith - Drums
Scott Henderson - Guitar
Victor Wooten - Bass

I've always been a RUSH fan myself - when it comes to rock, that is. Their "Live in Rio" DVD is SUPERB! And yes, Neil is a truly great rock drummer.

"Animal" is a puppet! The actual drummer who played his drum parts was a certain Ronnie Verrell.

If you want to see "Animal" vs the World's Greatest Drummer, check out Buddy Rich for the video clip. Buddy won, BTW!

EDIT - While you're on that site, check out the Buddy vs Jerry Lewis drum battle too - it's hilarious!

I knew Animal was a puppet, but I did not know the name of the actual drummer. I'll check the website out.

"Still think Animal is the greatest drummer, best performer i've seen"
