This is the third Critique Buddies group.

The idea is that 7 people join the group on a first come, first served basis, then we all produce one Macro shot to upload to the group.

The rest of the members of the group will then offer a detailed critique of the shot.

This group lasts till the end of June 2009, then a new group will be created and the process started again.

if there are already 7 people in the group, please go to:

Critique Buddies June 2009 - 4

and join one of those.

We seem to be the only Buddy Group not 'talking' so thought I would get the ball rolling.

Many thanks to buddies old and new for some great critiques (well OK, they weren't 'good' but neither was the pic!). Learning some valuable lessons, not least of which is to get out of that comfort zone! Also, it's not a race to get the picture up, I need to take more time, be more imaginative in my choice of subject and approach it more creatively. This was an opportunity to do something different and I bottled it.

I am finding giving critique difficult but it's just another aspect of the challenge and I am trying hard to overcome my reticence in this regard, hopefully without giving offence.

Very impressed with the standard of images and range of subjects in all the groups and looking forward to the next challenge.

Just caught up on doing my crits - that was a really difficult but interesting exercise and I learnt a lot just from doing it. Hope they were of some use and that nobody took offence.

Also, thanks to all that have critted mine to date. They've been extremely helpful

Finally finished my crits too - that was hard but great to have the freedom of knowing that people wanted comments.

Not always sure I had too much to criticise and a lot of my comments were more about personal preference, so more than happy if you disagree with me, but hopeful they were helpful anyway.

And thankyou to everyone for your comments on my shot. Differering opinions but grest to have the mix of suggestions of how to change it as well as the encouragement from those who liked it as it was. Both valuable and a reminder that so much of photography is subjective and not always about right and wrong. Not sure that I'll prefer the result but happy to have another try at the shot following the changes suggested in the feedback and post another one over the weekend - pop in for a look if you're interested but please don't feel obliged.

Looking forward to seeing Les' shot to complete the set; but what great variety there's been and it's been both fun and challenging at the same time. I'm looking forward to the next one although this is going to take me a long way outside of my comfort zone!

Have been trying out a new subject since getting critique on the image I put up for this, have decided that it is great fun and I am sure it will push me to try different things. So glad I decided to have a go and looking forward to seeing what's next.

Finally got my image up....sorry for making you wait!
Now will start the crits.....

I found this a good challenge, mainly to find something different...at which I failed miserably.

Still onwards and upwards for the next subject. Can't wait as this is making me slow down and think about what I'm taking.

Just finishes Crits, found it really difficult. I think the main reason was this being so remote from the person, it's easier when chatting at the camera club and giving a quick crit on someone's image when they are there.

If anyone is offended please do not be, and if anyone is baffled by a comment please let me know and I might be able to explain it.
