Rope on Groyne

By Glynn
Love the textures here although not the most asthetically pleasing of shots.

I find this really pleasing to look at, the sky is nicely graduated and the textures on the wood and ropes are bob on, I like the contrast between them and the rust on the nails protruding from the wood. Very well done, I would love to see this in mono I think it could really work!

These Spurnhead images do work well in mono, but I think part of this image is the manmade blue rope against the gorgeous rich sea weathered wood of the groyne. The textures are to die for, wonderful stuff.

I like the textures and strong colours here - this is an image that I would be proud of Glynn. I am left wondering what is above the truncated rope at the top of the image, perhaps something unhelpful to the image, but a slight sense of incompleteness. There is also something uneven in the sky colour when you compare left and right... have you darkened the corners, used a clever filter? I offer these comments because of your request, I am certain that I would struggle to do as well as you have!

Hi Mike,

No no filters applied as far as i remember only a skylight. I added no colours or effects in PS only contrast and the usual sharpen. I can only think that as the sun had only been up for a short while it could be the angle of the camera to the sun ?

Thanks to all of you for clicks and comments.
