ePHOTOzine is promoting the idea of
Interest Groups so I thought of having one for West / East Sussex.

Obviously this is a new idea so is open to suggestions / refinement.

The primary aim is to portray places to visit, not necessarily just for photographers, in the area through photographs with a short narrative / history, whether it be Landscapes, Flora & Fauna, Sport, Wildlife, Architecture, Events & Customs and People but not Studio Portraiture / Model / Fashion Type shots.

Some of these places will be the obvious "tourist / day tripper" but the secondary aim is to seek out new locations for photography that you wish to share.

All locations / places / events should be open to the public.

Until now and the end of the year I suggest it is "Open Season" to kick things off and see how it goes then from January 2010 each month's uploads should be from a specified area to build up a "picture"

I will suggest the firs two then hopefully others will join in and suggest future areas. ( please a mixture of coastal / non-coastal )

January 2010 - Arundel, West Sussex and 10 mile radius

February 2010 - Battle, East Sussex and 10 mile radius

You can go out individually or get together as group, but if you set it up as an epz mambers meet please state it is also for the SUSSEX INTEREST GROUP.

Any thoughts and or suggestions please let me know

Thanks for dropping by Paul.

The intention is not for everyone to visit all the suggested locations, ( you can of course if you wish Smile but hopefully to share images from those areas that you have particular interest in & knowledge of.

Early days yet and with Christmas in a few weeks I am not expecting too many to sign up until the New Year.

sounds good to me. I'm just starting to get to know the area from a photography point of view I'll contribute when I can but I shall learn from the group more than I can add at the moment.

That is just fine Bridget, getting to know the area you just may discover somewhere that all us "Locals" take for granted and do not bother with or have missed !

If you do need any help / advice on locations etc. this is the place to ask.

Thanks for stopping by and showing an interest Smile

An interesting idea Jeff. One that I am all in favour of. How does epz feel about promoting events though? I would love to promote Chichester Cathedral's biennial Festival of Flowers, which comes up in the first week of June this year. It is spectacular as can be seen from these two
I have a whole string of photos that I could post.

Hi James,
Arundel also has a flower festival around that time each year.

Perhaps you could send a suggestion to epz ( link at bottom of page) about promoting events... a sort of "What's On Diary" section as opposed to an exhibition or epz meet.

My idea of this group interest has not really taken off, must admit due to the weather of late I have not been down to Arundel area Sad.
Was hoping to go this week-end but my car is in for repairs following an accident.

Will give this another bit of publicity in the Forums in February, when hopefully people can get out-and-about again.

Just added a photo for this - however it seems to have landed up in main photo gallery and does not show here. What have I done wrong?!!

Hi Andy,

To get it to show here as well as in the normal gallery you need to go to "Link To Members' Meeting" and select from the drop down box.
This can be found towards the bottom of the page when entering all the details etc. about the image and can be edited retrospectively.

Thaks for stopping by on this section Smile
